The White Dragon by Laura Resnick
Fiction
The warrior Tansen and the prophetess Mirabar are fighting to free the bloodthirsty Silerian people from foreign domination. Interesting and numerous characters, a great setting, prophecies, a vengeful fire goddess, and lots of fast-paced action make this a fantasy that stands out from the rest.

The Destroyer Goddess by Laura Resnick
Fiction
Like the two previous books in this trilogy, In Legend Born and The White Dragon , this story continues the trend of amazing characters and fast paced, suspenseful plots. It is also very funny at times in a mildly sarcastic way. This is a really great and fun fantasy series.

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See
Fiction
Step back in time to nineteenth-century China, to an era when women lived in almost total seclusion. This is a story about the unique friendships and secret language created in this environment. Foot binding, arranged marriages and the secret language of "nu shu," painted by women on fans, handkerchiefs and embroidered on fabric, are part of this compelling tale of friendship and forgiveness.
