Special Meeting of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library Board of Trustees
November 30, 1999
The special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library
was held on Tuesday, November 30, 1999 in the Central Library pursuant to due notice to
trustees and to the public. The following members were present: Rebecca L. Mahoney, Chair;
Phyllis A. Horton, Vice Chair; Simone Mitchell-Peterson, Secretary; James W. Burns; Frank
Gist; Annette A. Juncewicz; Remy Orffeo; Elaine M. Panty; Robert J. Plache; Daniel T.
Roach; Judith K. Summer; Sharon A. Thomas; Stanley H. Zagora;
Excused: David J. Shenk; Salvatore R. Martoche
Chair Mahoney called the meeting to order and recognized a quorum at 7:45 a.m. in the Joseph B. Rounds Conference Room.
Ms. Mahoney welcomed trustees and indicated that the purpose of this special meeting was to interview semi-finalist candidates for the position of Library Director. She requested a motion to enter Executive Session for the purpose of addressing these personnel matters. On motion by Ms. Panty, seconded by Ms. Summer, the motion passed unanimously. The Board entered Executive Session at 7:47 a.m.
Trustees Mitchell-Peterson and Juncewicz joined the meeting at 7:55 a.m.
Trustee Plache joined the meeting at 8:15 a.m.
Trustee Burns left the meeting at 11:30 a.m.
Trustee Thomas left the meeting at 1:15 p.m.
At approximately 4:40 p.m., on motion by Ms. Juncewicz and seconded by Ms. Horton, the Board reconvened in public session. Ms. Mahoney indicated that the Board had taken no action during Executive Session. There being no further business, on motion by Ms. Summer and seconded by Ms. Panty the meeting was adjourned at approximately 4:45 p.m.
