Lancaster Public Library won the 2015 Battle of the Books reading competition on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at E.C.C. South.
There were a total of 33 teams, representing 20 different Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries! Nearly 240 participants (children entering grades 6 – 9) and an audience of 500!
Marilla Free Library was runner-up.
Now in its 17th year, Battle pairs participating library teams against one another. Each team of up to eight members reads the same five preselected books and answers tricky trivia questions about each book. The final round takes place in the ECC gym.
This year’s titles were:
Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library by Chris Grabenstein, The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde, Swindle by Gordon Korman; Three Times Lucky by Sheila Turnage and Nightmare at the Book Fair by Dan Gutman.
