Library Board Chairman Frank Housh hosted a panel and public discussion on urbanist Richard Florida’s latest book The New Urban Crisis: How Our Cities are Increasing Inequality, Deepening Segregation, and Failing the Middle Class – and What We Can Do About It. The participating local panelists were Rahwa Ghirmatzion of PUSH Buffalo, architect/urbanist Kisha Patterson and Robert Silverman of the UB School of Architecture & Planning.

Library Board Chairman Frank Housh hosted a panel and public discussion on author Randall Fuller’s 2017 non-fiction book titled The Book That Changed America: How Darwin’s Theory of Evolution Ignited a Nation.  Participating local panelist were Douglas DeCroix, Executive Editor, Western New York Heritage Press; George DeTitta, Principal Scientist, Jelly Jar Labs and University at Buffalo Professor Emeritus, Structural Biology; and the Reverend Joan Montagnes, Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo.

Library Board Chairman Frank Housh hosted a panel and public discussion on the timely, thought-provoking award-winning book, Half-Earth: Our Planet’s Fight for Life by Edward O. Wilson.  Panelists were Lynda Schneekloth of the Climate Justice Coalition of WNY, who was recently named “Conservationist of the Year” by the Adirondack Mountain Club - Niagara Frontier Chapter and Doug Swift, developer, Buffalo RiverWorks.
