Public Access Computers: 14 computers, networked, including 3 laptops, printing 10¢ per B&W page, 25¢ per color page, flatbed scanner, Microsoft Office Applications, Internet Access, Misc. "What can I do at a Public Access Computer?"

Wi-fi available.

Ongoing Spring Events

  • Book Babies - For newborns - 2 1/2 years old - Tuesdays @ 11:30am, from April 25 to June 6.  Join us for stories, songs and nursery rhymes!  Registration required.
  • Toddler Time - For ages 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 years old - Tuesdays @ 10:30am, from April 25 to June 6.  We'll be telling stories, singing songs, and doing crafts!  Registration required.
  • Preschool Story Time - For ages 3 1/2 - 5 1/2 - Fridays @ 10:30am, from April 28 to May 26.  Help your child prepare for school and have some fun too!  Registration required.

 

  • Iroquois Central School District Art Show - The art will be displayed from Monday, April 24th to Friday, April 28th during open library hours.
  • Family Movie Night - Friday, April 28 @ 7:00pm.  For all ages (rated PG).  Click here to see movie title.  No registration necessary.

 

  • Peewee Puppets presents "Do One Thing" - Monday, May 1 @ 6:30pm.  For ages 4-12.  Join Professor Higginstein and a colorful cast of characters as they explore ways to create and sustain a healthy planet Earth.  Through a fun and interactive musical presentation, learn how we can develop responsible habits about conserving energy.  Following the show will be a free puppet-making workshop!  Space is limited for the workshop, so please register.
  • Cinco de MayoWednesday, May 3 @ 6:30pm. Grades K-3. Stories, games and a craft. Children even make their own mini-piñata! Registration required.
  • Teen Book Club - Monday, May 8 @ 6:30pm.  Ages 11-17.  Our book choice for May is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.  Join us for lively discussion.  Bring a friend!  Registration required.
  • Battle of the Books Informational Meeting - Monday, May 15 @ 6:30pm.  For those children entering grades 6-9.  Are you a good reader?  Love to compete in trivia tournaments and work as a team?  Then we need you!  The Elma Library is forming a team for this summer.  Any interested persons should come to our informational meeting or talk to Mrs. Kate.  Click here for more information.
  • One Community One Book: The Boys in the Boat - Wednesday, May 17 @ 7:00pm.  Join us for a community-wide read with our featured title The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics by Daniel James Brown.  Please pre-register.
  • Elma Lego Club - Saturday, May 20 @ 1:00pm.  For ages 6-12.  This month create what you like!  Bring a friend!  Registration required.
  • Adult Coloring - Monday, May 22 @ 6:30pm.  For ages 18 and up.   Have fun with this relaxing and creative activity.  All coloring materials will be provided.  Registration required.

 

 

  • Building & Construction Magic Show! - Thursday, July 6 @ 2:00pm.  Magician Cris Johnson brings a wide array of funny, interactive magic, featuring his pal Cosmo the Mind-Reading Monkey and more!  It's fun for the whole family!  No registration required.
  • Aquarium of Niagara Touch Tank - Thursday, July 20 @ 2:00pm.  For all ages.  Get in "touch" with the ocean by handling live sea creatures in the Aquarium's traveling touch tank!  No registration required.

 

  • Talk on the Wild Side with Hawk Creek Wildlife Center - Thursday, August 3 @ 2:00pm.  For school age children.  Are you most curious about birds of prey?  During this program, you will see live animals which may include a hawk, falcon, owl or vulture!  Hear, see, and appreciate the differences between the species.  Registration required.
  • "Build a Better World" with Checkers - Thursday, August 17 @ 2:00pm.  Join Checkers, a 3-time performer at the White House, for great family fun involving comedy and creativity!  No need to register.
  • Explore & More Presents "Tinkering" - Thursday, August 24 @ 2:00pm.  For ages 6-12.  Join us for hands-on building fun!  Registration required.

Book Sale Donations

Gently used books in good condition will be accepted during library hours.  Please no text books, Reader's Digests, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, or cassette tapes.  Donate used books at the Elma Library, at the corner of Bowen & Rice Road or call 652-2719.

 


 

The Elma Board of Trustees meets at 7:00pm the second Tuesday of every month, except July and December.
