5,200 Signed Library Postcards Delivered to Erie County Executive After Rally at Central Library

 

The following information was distributed by Buffalo & Erie County Public Library Director, Mary Jean Jakubowski earlier this afternoon during a “Turn the Lights Back On - Flip the Switch for Library Funding” rally at the downtown Central Library.  The event was covered by all 3 TV stations, YNN News, The Buffalo News, Tonawanda News and WBEN Radio.

Bullying Stops Here” Campaign Announced

More than a dozen human service organizations joined forces with the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System today to announce a community wide anti-bullying initiative for the month of October.  The “Bullying Stops Here” campaign includes a pledge not to bully as well as a calendar of upcoming events.

SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL LIBRARY CARD SIGN-UP MONTH

September is National Library Card Sign-up Month--a time to remind everyone that a library card provides access to invaluable services from one of the most important resources in our local communities: your neighborhood library. “We believe a library card is the smartest card in your wallet,” said Mary Jean Jakubowski, director of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System. “A library card can open the door to a world of discovery through books, computers and more and, best of all, it’s free!”
