PRESS RELEASESBUFFALO AND ERIE COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY OFFERS YOUTH SUMMER CYBER CAMP PROGRAM~ Four-Day Sessions for Students and Daily Workshops for Youth Groups ~June 2, 2004 - Buffalo , NY - The Central Library is hosting a Summer Cyber Camp program for children as well as organized student groups of all ages at its new, state-of-the-art computer training lab. The sessions allow participants to gain new skills using an entertaining, engaging and hands-on approach to learning. For youth entering fourth through eighth grades in the fall, a four-day program is available in morning or afternoon sessions beginning on July 12 th and August 2 nd . Morning sessions run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Afternoon classes are held from 1 to 4 p.m. Participants will learn safe and effective Internet searching techniques, discover new databases and fun websites, develop new skills using Live Homework Help , complete projects using Microsoft software and explore Verizon SuperPages website, Enlighten Me . Daily sessions are also available to student groups of all ages from summer camps, recreation programs or daycare centers. One to three hour workshops can be booked on a wide variety of topics to appeal to different age groups and interests. Topics include: Microsoft software programs, B&ECPL Catalog, Internet and age-appropriate searching (for research and entertainment), student databases, Live Homework Help , College Source Online, resumes for high schoolers, Mavis Beacon Typing Tutor and more. Sessions can be scheduled in the morning or afternoon during the weeks of July 6 th , July 19 th , July 26 th , August 9 th , August 16 th and August 23 rd .
