PRESS RELEASES“READ, WHITE & BLUE ALL AMERICAN SUMMER READING SHOW” TO BE FEATURED AT SEVERAL AREA LIBRARIES~ Presented by Local Television Personality Mike Randall ~July 20, 2004 - Buffalo , NY - Throughout the month of August, several area libraries are hosting the “Read, White and Blue All American Summer Reading Show.” Presented by local television personality Mike Randall , the program features magic, ventriloquism, puppets and audience participation. Designed to generate enthusiasm for summer reading, the 40-minute program is geared toward preschoolers through fifth graders. All shows are free and open to the public. “The only thing more important than developing reading skills in young children is discovering ways to ignite their passion for reading,” said Randall. The list of appearances includes: August 2 nd at 11 am at the West Seneca Public Library; August 3 rd at 11 am at the Central Library; August 4 th at 11:30 am at the Eden Library; August 4 th at 2:30 pm at the East Delavan Library; August 9 th at 11 am at the Clarence Public Library; August 16 th at 11 am at the North Cheektowaga Branch; August 19 th at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield Branch; August 26 th at 10 am at the Concord Public Library; August 26 th at 2 pm at the Riverside Branch; August 27 th at 3 pm at the Dudley Branch; and August 30 th at 11 am at the Kenmore Branch. The program is based on the 2004 New York State summer reading theme, “ New York is Read, White and Blue.” The shows are made possible through Federal Library Services and Technology Act Funds, awarded to the New York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
