PRESS RELEASESCENTRAL LIBRARY HOSTS AWARD-WINNING AUTHOR - May 21st______________________________________________________________________________ Buffalo , NY --- The downtown Central Library is hosting an author visit from award-winning writer Frederick Busch on Saturday, May 21 st at 1 pm in the West Room. Author of 27 books, Busch will be discussing “How to Read a Novel,” where he will explore the writing of novels from the inside perspective of an author as well as how to understand the goals of a literary novel. In addition, Busch will also talk about his new book, North , which reintroduces characters from his best-selling novel, Girls . This event is free and open to the public. A book sale and signing will follow the presentation. An upstate New York resident, Busch is Fairchild Professor of Literature Emeritus at Colgate University . He has received the following distinguished fellowships: Woodrow Wilson, National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim. He is also the recipient of numerous awards for his writing, including an award for his fiction from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, the PEN/Malamud Award for Short Fiction, the Award of Merit in Short Fiction form the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters and the National Jewish Book Award for Fiction. Busch's most recent titles are The Children in the Woods: New and Selected Short Stories , Girls , The Night Inspector , Don't Tell Anyone , A Memory of War and North .
