Many Libraries to Close for Mandatory Staff Training DayMost library locations will be closed on Wednesday, September 10th while the B&ECPL conducts a Staff Training Day. Library locations that will be open include: Audubon from 6 to 9 pm, Boston from 9 am to 1 pm, Clearfield from 6 to 9 pm, Elma from 1 to 9 pm, Kenmore from 10 am to 6 pm, Lackawanna from 1 to 9 pm, Lancaster form 5 to 9 pm, Newstead from 1 to 8 pm, and Orchard Park from 5 to 9 pm. All other locations will be closed for the day.
Parking Vouchers Available at Central LibraryThe B&ECPL is pleased to offer a voucher good for one hour of free parking at specific Buffalo Civic Auto Ramps. Vouchers are available at the Borrower Services Desk and must be presented to the parking ramp/lot attendant to receive the discount. You must present a library card, public PC use guest pass or a valid Central Library Use Validation form to receive the parking voucher. Discounts apply Monday through Friday before 5:00 PM only. It's YOUR health care system-Make sure YOUR voice is heard!The B&ECPL is taking part in One Friday: Four Futures, a series of community conversations designed to amplify the voice of all of us in answering the question, "What do we want the future of health care in Western New York to look like?" The Frank E. Merriweather, Jr. branch library will host a public dialogue on Monday, September 29th, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Branched Out!The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library in cooperation with the Buffalo Museum of Science will present "Branched Out" at several libraries this Fall. Children ages 7-10 are welcome to join us for Brainy Beings, Living with Lungs, What if You Dunnit? It's What's Inside that Counts, Pumped Up and Excuse Me, But Does This Belong to You? Check out the dates and times at the Central, Crane, Dudley, East Clinton, East Delavan, Merriweather, Niagara, and Riverside libraries.
New Web Feature... Suspend Your Holds!You can now suspend any or all outstanding items on hold for a specified timeframe and not lose your place in the fill queue. If a requested item becomes available during the time you have suspended the "Hold," it will go to the next person on the waiting list. The suspended "Hold" remains first in queue. When the suspension time expires, you will get the next available copy. The total number of items that you may have on "Hold" has been increased to 25. To suspend your "Holds," visit My Account.
