Parking

One-hour parking vouchers are available from the library for select Buffalo Civic Auto Ramps including Adam, Augspurger, HSBC, Mohawk, and Ellicott-Oak lots. Allpro also offers downtown parking. The lots closest to the library are: the Ellicott/Oak Lot and the Adam Ramp (One-hour vouchers available) and The Lafayette Court Lot.

Metered parking is available on some area streets.

Where is the Grosvenor Room?
The Grosvenor Room is located on the first floor in the Central Library near the Ring of Knowledge display.

Access to Materials
Most materials in the genealogy, local history, and music collections may be viewed readily in the Grosvenor Room. Some materials from these collections are housed in the Rare Book Room and are not readily available for research. Appointments are necessary to view Rare Book Room items. Please see terms of access for more information.

Grosvenor Room Amenities

Copy Machines - Two public copiers are available for use. One of the copiers can print in color. Fees are as follows:

Black and White
8.5x11 - 15 cents
8.5x14 - 30 cents
11x17 - 30 cents

Color
8.5x11 - 50 cents
8.5x14 - $1.00
11x17 - $1.00

Microfilm Machines There are eight reader/printers in the department. Printing is in black and white at a cost of 20 cents per 8.5 x 11 page.

Computer Databases - Three public access computers are available for library catalog and database searching. Database printing is in black and white only, and costs 10 cents per page. General internet use is not available in the Grosvenor Room, but is available in other departments of the Central Library.

Personal Laptop Use - Wireless internet access is available throughout the Central Library, including the Grosvenor Room. Limited outlets are available to plug in your laptop.

Study Tables - Twelve large study tables are available for research use.

Library Features, Events, and Amenities

Fables Cafe is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 3 PM and on Saturday from 8:30 AM - 2 PM (the kitchen closes 1/2 hour prior to closing time).

Novel Ideas/Encore Editions Gifts and Used Books is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 AM - 2 PM, on Thursday from 11 AM - 6 PM and on Saturday from 11 AM - 3 PM.

Mark Twain Room - This special exhibition room at the Central Library is the home of Twain's original handwritten manuscript, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Central Library auditorium and meeting rooms may be reserved for events.
