Yarn Club
Eden Library's Yarn Club started in September 2007 with a dual purpose: to bring knitters and crocheters together for a common goal, and as a way to give back to the community in appreciation for their support during the library system's budget crisis.
The group is currently making baby hats and afghans for infants at Women's and Children's Hospital of Buffalo. So far, 60 afghans, 302 hats, 2 sweaters, 3 bibs, 8 pairs of mittens and 2 pairs of booties have been donated. The group will continue their work for the hospital until May, 2008, at which time another charity will be selected.
The Yarn Club currently has 30 members. Senior Library Clerk Helga Antonou serves as the group's leader. The group meets one Saturday each month at 11:00 AM. For more information about the group, phone the library at 992-4028.
Donations to cover the cost of yarn are gratefully accepted.
