What's Special About the Newstead Public Library
The Newstead Public Library is located in the heart of the village of Akron. We are just a
short walk from the historical Octagon House and village shops. At the Library you
will always be greeted with a smile and a helpful hand. Many people doing genealogical
research use our microfilm collection of local Akron newspapers, dating back to 1878. For
the charm and feel of a hometown library, stop in and visit the Newstead Public Library.
Friends of the Library
We have a very supportive Friends of the
Library group that sponsors a used book sale in the Spring and Fall. There are three ways
to become involved as a Friend: (1) as a member, (2) as a donor, and/or (3) as a
volunteer. Please contact the Newstead Public Library for more information on how to become
involved.

3D Photography on Display at the Newstead Public Library | | Wednesday, May 14, 2008 | | Time: 7:00 pm - | | Other : Photographer Mike Miller of Akron has 9 of his 3D framed photographs on display at the library. Please stop by, put on a pair of 3D glasses and enjoy! Meet Mike at the library to learn about 3D photography or stereo photography. He will share some "how-to" information and talk about his photos. Mike has also authored a book, 3D Photography, which is on display at the library and will be available to purchase. He has displayed his work at the Lockport Market Street Art Center and currently has a showing at the Niagara County Historical Society.
