What's Special About the Orchard Park Library
Located adjacent to the historic 1920s Railroad Depot Station, the Orchard Park Library serves southern Erie County as a center for reference and homework help with its large non-fiction collection. It has an extensive fiction and audio book collection. The childrens collection is highlighted by innovative special displays including the Bookworms Rocking Horse.
Services for the handicapped include described videos (DVS) for the sight impaired, large print books and an enlarger for other documents. The Library has the only framed art print collection for loan in the County.
Special programs for all ages, story times for children and computer classes are offered continually.
And finally and most importantly, it is our highly trained, topnotch staff that makes our library so effective, friendly and welcoming.
Our Friends of the Orchard Park Public Library is the largest and most active Friends group in Erie County. They sponsor the 4th Tuesday lecture series and our special childrens programs. They have four used book sales, rare book sales and the Book Nook ongoing book sale area. They funded most of the 2005 book budget when Erie County could not. They have purchased many shelves, displayers and other equipment that has made this library so special. New members are always welcome.
