Theme: Why Does Preservation Matter?
Molly Quackenbush is Executive Director of the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site, now celebrating its 40th anniversary as a museum. One of the earliest examples of a preservation success story, the Inaugural Site continues to be a relevant and vibrant community asset. Using it as a case study, Quackenbush considered three reasons to preserve: it builds pride, creates a draw for tourists, and effects positive community change.
