Theme: Why are Buffalo Niagara’s Art, Architecture, History, and/or Nature Important?

Dottie Gallagher-Cohen, President and CEO of the Buffalo Niagara Convention & Visitors Bureau, presented a clear case for developing the fifth largest economic sector in our region -- tourism. Branding efforts since 2006 are paying off, based on viewing Buffalo as central to the region with many other attractions nearby, including Niagara Falls, Fort Niagara, Fort George and Fort Erie, Niagara-On-The-Lake, the Roycroft, and Chautauqua Institution. Every dollar invested in tourism has been shown to have a $25 return. A Q & A session followed, reinforcing the fact that the region’s future is rooted in the culture we are developing around our art, architecture, history, and nature.
