Niagara Movement
The Niagara Movement was a black civil rights organization founded in 1905. Led by W. E. B. Du Bois and William Monroe Trotter, the organization opposed racial segregation and disenfranchisement. It was named for the "mighty current" of change the group wanted to effect, and for Niagara Falls, which was near where the first meeting took place.

Pan-American Exposition
The Pan-American Exposition, held in Buffalo, New York in 1901, was an international celebration of cultural unity and shared trade interests throughout the Americas. This guide lists resources for the Pan-Am at the BECPL, including general information on the exhibits, material on art and architecture, as well as scrapbooks, maps, and music of the era.
