Yard Games

The Boston Free Library now has yard games available for a 7-day loan period. We have Corn Hole, Bocce, Giant Jenga, Volleyball/Badminton, Croquet, Kubb, Can Jam, and Ladder Ball. Stop in to check them out for your next party!

Canine Good Citizen Reading Dog on Staff
Saturdays 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
September 8th -December 29th 
Stop in and sign up for a session to read to Boston's Canine Good Citizen Therapy Dog, Grimaldi. Practicing reading aloud to such a good listener helps children to gain confidence in their abilities.

Stop in between 5:00 -6:00 PM for an all ages craft program! We will be making guitar pick jewelry and painting our very own rock star rocks!  Both crafts make great gifts!

Saturday, October 6th, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Turtle Outreach with the Aquarium of Niagara - Children in 1st-6th grade

Meet the Aquarium's Turtle Ambassador and learn all about the differences and amazing adaptations of tortoises, freshwater turtles and sea turtles.    

Thursday, October 11th, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Pumpkin Art - All Ages

Stop in between 5:00 - 6:00 PM to create your very own pumpkin art! We will be using a variety of techniques to create some seasonal artwork.  

Friday, October 19th, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Friends of the Library Annual Gala Fundraiser and Book Sale Preview

Join us for our Annual Gala Fundraiser and the first shot at our book sale.  Food, wine, huge basket raffle, and live music!  Kids- wear your Halloween costumes and get entered to win prizes!

We've got something for everyone.  Books, movies, music cds, records, and more! Most items are $1.00 or less.

Saturday, November 10th, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Unicorns and Dragons - Ages 3-6

What's your favorite? Dragons or unicorns? With this program you don't have to choose! Come celebrate your favorite fantastic beast at the library.  Create a dragon's egg and decide what type of dragon you'll hatch.  Make and take unicorn slime with stories, games and a dance party! Space is limited!

Thursday, November 15th, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Book Turkey Centerpieces - All Ages

Stop in between 5:00 -6:00 PM to create the perfect Thanksgiving centerpiece - a turkey made out of a recycled book! 

Saturday, November 17th, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Nature Play - Ages 6-10

Discover nature in this fun-filled program! Participants will get to explore various aspects of Buffalo's nature, create their own collage, and play games all without leaving the library! Space is limited!

Saturday, December 1st, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM or 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Graham Cracker Houses - All Ages

Join us for a seasonal favorite! All supplies are provided for this hands on, family-friendly program.  Make and decorate your own graham cracker house to take home and enjoy.  Space is limited!

Saturday, December 8th, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM - Holiday Card Making Class - All Ages

All supplies will be provided for this free, family program.  Make your own one-of-a-kind holiday cards to send to your friends and family.  

Thursday, December 13th, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Make Your Own Christmas Ornaments - All Ages

Stop in between 5:00 - 6:00 PM to make your very own Christmas ornaments.  Supplies will be provided, but please call 716-941-3516 to register so we have enough for everyone.
