Located on the corner of South Park Avenue and Whitfield Street; four blocks south of Tifft Street and approximately one mile north of Ridge Road. Wheelchair accessible, parking lot available.


  • Public Access Computers:
    14 public access computers and 2 full color scanners
    6 children's computers
    3 laptops for in-house use (includes 1 Skype laptop)
    Microsoft Office Applications, Buffalo Public Schools Remote Desktop, "What can I do at a Public Access Computer?"
  • Public Fax Machine
  • Networked printing
  • Black and white photocopier
  • Internet Access, WiFi, Misc. 
  • Meeting Room
  • Ongoing booksale in community room
  • Request items from other libraries

Fee Structure:

  • Requests: $.25 for adult print & audio. $1 for adult DVD/Blu-Ray. Juvenile items have no charge. 
  • Unclaimed Requests: $1.00 for ALL media items (including juvenile) and $.50 for ALL print items (including juvenile)
  • Printing: $.10 for black and white, $.25 for color
  • Copier: $.15 for standard paper, $.30 for legal paper
  • Fax Machine: $1.75 for the first page and an additional $1 for each additional page (2 pages for $2.75, 3 pages for $3.75, etc.)
  • Overdue Fees for Adults: $.25 per item, per day for all adult books and audio. $1 per item per day for all adult movies.
  • Overdue Fees for Children: $.10 per item per day for all children books and audio. $1 per item per day for all children movies.

May 23rd - Light and Optics Experiments
Learn some tricks about light!
May 30th - Recycling Regatta
Make and race your own boats from random materials.

Storytime with Ms. Jackie

Storytimes with themed crafts. Ages 0-5.

Tabletop RPG Night for Tweens

Tuesdays, May 7th and 28th @ 5:30pm-7:30pm

Kids will develop their math and storytelling skills during our tabletop roleplaying sessions! Registration required (walk-ins welcome to observe.)

Landscaping with Native Species of WNY
Presented by Ken Parker of PUSH Buffalo

Tuesday, May 21 @ 6:30-7:30pm

Work with nature and discover the benefits of sustainable landscape techniques using local hardy native species. This presentation provides ecologically sound solutions for homeowners that include an introduction to our regional Western New York State flora. Native plants for clay, dry soils, wet sites and shady gardens are discussed in this presentation from a leading industry expert. 

· Identify WNY State native species for landscape use

· Highlight horticultural value; height, bloom time, fall color, winter structure

· Overview of Native Trees, shrubs, perennials & grasses illustrated

· Site selection and recommended appropriate species

· Overview of Native plants for clay, dry soils, wet sites and shade areas

The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System Board of Trustees is the governing body for the downtown Central Library, and the eight branch libraries located in the city of Buffalo. These include: Crane, Dudley, East Clinton, East Delavan, Frank E. Merriweather, Jr., Niagara, North Park and the Riverside Branch Libraries.
