23 Public Access Computers

All computers are networked, including 2 laptops with wireless printing and a workstation with a flatbed scanner available. All computers have Microsoft Office 2007 Applications, Internet Access, Misc. "What can I do at a Public Access Computer?"

Printing 10 cents B&W per page, 25 cents color per page.

Meeting Room

Capacity 50. Wireless internet access point in room for excellent WiFi. Meeting room is also equipped for multimedia presentations. Used for library programs, available for use by nonprofit organizations (registration required call 662-9851).

CHARGING STATIONS           

The Orchard Park Library has recently added two mobile device charging stations so you can charge your device while you work in the library. 

 

 

 

BLACK & WHITE COPY MACHINE         

For your convenience the Orchard Park Library also has a black & white copy machine. Copies are 15 cents each for 8.5 X 11in (letter sized), copies 30 cents each for 8.5 X 14in (legal sized) 

 

What's Special About the Orchard Park Library

Located adjacent to the historic 1920s Railroad Depot Station, the Orchard Park Library serves southern Erie County as a center for reference and homework help with its large non-fiction collection. It has an extensive fiction, DVD and audio book collection. The children's collection is highlighted by innovative special displays and an interactive play area.  A chessboard is available for public use.

Special programs for all ages, story times for children and computer classes are offered continually.

And finally and most importantly, it is our knowledgeable and responsive staff that makes our library so effective, friendly and welcoming.

Our Friends of the Orchard Park Public Library is the largest and most active Friends group in Erie County. They sponsor the 4th Tuesday speaker series, many of our special children's programs, quarterly donated book sales, an annual rare book sale and ongoing Book Nook, Book Cart and online book sales (www.ebay.com/usr/oplibrary).  Guidelines for book sale donations may be found here:

Up to five (5) medium sized boxes or bags will be accepted once per day.  Friends have purchased many shelves, display units and other equipment that make this library so special. New members are always welcome. For more information, visit the Friends website: www.friendsofoplibrary.org.

Teen Programs


Teen Service Opportunity

**Attention Teens in grades 5 & up**

The Orchard Park Library needs teen volunteers interested in completing community service to run a monthly children's craft program! Teen service for the month of June will take place on Saturday, June 23rd. Teens can sign up to participate in this community service opportunity in 1 hour shifts, for a maximum of 5 hours of service.

 


Adult Programs


***NEW***Orchard Park Public Library One-on-One Computer Training Sessions are now available every week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays by appointment only. These one-on-one sessions allow you to personalize your computer training on any number of subjects including but not limited to, typing, resume assistance, email and social media. Call the library today for FREE beginner and intermediate computer training 662-9851.

Knitting Club meets every Wednesday at 7:30pm. This meeting is open to the public and can accommodate all skill levels. If you've never knitted before and don't know where to begin, we can help! We have needles and yarn and experienced staff to help you get started. No registration is required. 

Spinner’s Guild meets every 4th Wednesday at 7:30. Open to new & experienced spinners, as well as observers! No prior registration is required.

Summer Reading Kick-Off with Nitro Magic

Friday July 6th 2pm-3pm

Come to the library and cool off with a flash frozen treat! Participate in raffles, scavenger hunts and learn about our summer reading programs! Registration is required! Event is free and open to the public. All ages!

Rockin’ Baby Story Time Baby Story Time is a fun and  gentle introduction to reading and group activities geared for children under the age of 2.This program features age appropriate stories, interactive activities, music & movement and a craft. Registration is required and will begin on Monday June 18th. Please call 662-9851 to sign up.

Make-It Mondays: Lab! July 9th—August 13th Visit the library from 3pm-5pm to explore and learn through play with Miss Carly & Friends! Experiment , make unconventional art and have some hands-on fun! No registration!

July Make It Saturday: Lab!  & August Make it Saturday: Lab! Visit the library July 21st & Saturday August 18th from 10am-12pm to explore and learn through play with Miss Carly and friends!                                              Registration is not required.

Read to Maisy - July 12th & 17th from 6:30-8:10pm. Book your own 20 minute session reading to Maisy the Therapy Dog! Call to register 662-9851. 

Storytime at the Station Saturday July 14th & Saturday August 11th at 10am.          Join us for a fun pop-up story time at the Orchard Park Railway Depot. Stories, songs and activities for all ages! No registration is required.

Summer Library Carnival Saturday July 28th 2pm-4pm Come out for some early fun before Street Dance! Great games, customized cotton candy, bounce house, cool crafts & more! All ages!

 LEGO Club  Saturday, July 14th  | Saturday, August 11th   1PM  Join Miss Carly & friends for different LEGO Challenges every month! LEGOs are provided, just bring your imagination! Registration is required.
