Kenilworth has 20 Public Access Computers

(2 Children PCs, 9 Adult PCs  7 Laptops and 2 OPACs).

Networked printing (10 cents per page for black & white, 25 cents per page for color),

Microsoft Office applications, Internet access, seating area with outlet for powering personal laptop.  Free WiFi available.

 After hours book return available in parking lot.

Self Service Public Fax Machine available, 1.75 1st page, 1.00 each additional page using prepaid cards or credit/debit cards

Black and White Copier .15 per copy for 8 1/2  X 11 (letter size), .30 per copy 8 1/2 X 14 (legal size)

"What can I do at a Public Access Computer?"

A Community Room with the capacity of 30 is available for Library Programs and may be used by nonprofit organizations and groups.  A Meeting Room Application must be completed.

What's Special About the Kenilworth Library

Located on an area of land that was once part of the Kenilworth Park Race track in the early 1900’s, Montrose Avenue runs north off Kenmore Avenue, west of Niagara Falls Blvd and east of Parkhurst Blvd

Proof that good things can come in small packages, the library houses a wide array of books, magazines, DVDs, Blu-Rays, Audiobooks and CD’s for all ages and  interests.

Button Making Wednesdays from 5 to 7 pm at Kenilworth Library FOR ALL AGES

Button Making : Every Wednesday from 5 - 7 pm.  Come to the library to make your own buttons!  Find a favorite picture, photo, or make an original design and have it pressed into a 1.25 inch button.  Fashionable, Fun and Fabulous!  Open to all ages and no registration is required.  There is a limit of 3 buttons per person.  

Computer Coach Thursdays from 12 - 1 pm

The Kenilworth Branch Library is now offering a Computer Coach on Thursdays from 12:00-1:00 PM. Our volunteer will be available to help you with email, Microsoft Word, using the Internet, scanning, and more! No appointment needed. Service provided based on volunteer availability. Call 834-7657 for more information.


Books and Barks 2nd Wednesday of the month 6-7:30 ages 5-12

This reading program for children ages 5 and up is a unique opportunity to work on reading skills in a relaxed and fun environment. Sign up for a 15 minute session to read to a trained therapy dog. Registration is required for this program.  Presented in partnership with Paws for Love - a program of the SPCA serving Erie County.

Craft Club 2nd Saturday of the month at 4 pm for ages 5 and up

Join us every second Saturday of the month for a fun seasonal craft. Geared for ages 5 and up   

Space and materials are limited, so registration is required.

Book Discussions 1st Wednesday of the Month from 2-3:30 pm

Join us as Amy, the librarian for the Kenilworth Library, leads the discussion on the following titles on the  first Wednesday of the month from 2:00 - 3:30 pm.  Read great books and make new friends!  New members are always welcome!

All titles have multiple copies available to borrow from the library, so stop in or call the library for more information or to request a copy of the selected titles.

Read Down Your Fines: Ages 16 & under Jun 2-Sept 15

Read Down Your Fines is back again this summer! Beginning Saturday, June 2, 2018, through Saturday, September 15, 2018. READ BUCKS will be redeemable until Monday, October 8, 2018. This program is available at all Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries.

This program is for children age 16 and under who can “read down” their library fines. Participants can receive $1.00 in READ BUCKS for every 15 minutes of reading in the library.

A child reading to another child counts as credit for both children. A teen, age 13 – 16, who reads to a child is eligible to receive $2.00 in READ BUCKS for every 15 minutes. The child being read to will receive a $1.00 READING BUCK credit.

Kenilworth Independent Summer Reading Club for ages 12 and under

The Kenilworth Summer Reading Club retuns this Summer, where you get free books and prizes for doing what you already love to do, reading! 

Register and pick up a log book at the branch.  Use the log book to keep track of how many minutes and books you read during the months of July and August.  Hand in weekly coupons to library staff to redeem for your choice of a free book or prize. 

Special Grand Prizes awarded to the member who reads the most minutes and the most books!  For kids 12 and under, children who cannot read on their own can be read to by a parent or caregiver.  Contact the branch during regular hours to find out more.

 Join us for a relaxed evening of music and creativity as we explore Art Journaling to music. We will provide all the materials and some prompts to get your creative juices flowing, you provide the curiosity and the creativity. No special artistic or journaling experience necessary. Registration is required for this program.

The Kenilworth Library wants to encourage everyone to discover all the great items available to borrow from the Buffalo and Erie County Library System!  And we're sweetening the pot with our monthly basket raffle!  Each month we will have a new basket or gift card to give away!  You qualify for a raffle ticket for every 5 items you check out during the month.  Enter as many times as you like, but you must check out at least 5 items during each visit .  Bring your reciept to the desk to recieve your entry tickets!  


All events take place at 3 pm and last around an hour.

Kenilworth Summer Specials 2018



Defiant Monkey Improv is a two person improvisation team that creates on-the-spot theater based on this year's summer reading theme, “Libraries Rock!” along with audience suggestions and participation.

Investigate and learn about birds, mammals, reptiles, arthropods, & amphibians. Characteristics of each class will be discussed using bio facts and live animal representatives! 

An interactive story theatre program focusing on this year's summer reading theme, “Libraries Rock”!

Let’s take a journey across North America! Travel from the frozen tundra to the vast prairies and semi-tropical climates found on our own continent.  Meet the animals who have made their homes not too far from your own!

Get the chance to learn about and meet a mammal, bird, and reptile animal representative from Hawk Creek Wildlife Center. 

Join us for some “monkey business” as a representative from the Niagara Falls Primate Sanctuary introduces live primates throughout the presentation and teaches us about their unique characteristics.

Magician Cris Johnson presents a magic show themed around different aspects of music, a fun FREE magic trick for every child who attends, an amazing music race and more!

Patron Appreciation Picnic 8/23 1-3 pm

*Save the Date* Plans are in the works for a special Customer Appreciation Picnic to take place on Thursday August 23 from 1-3 pm.  Live Music, Refreshments, prizes activities for kids are currently being planned.  Check back later in the Summer for further details!

Spotlight on the 100th anniversary of a Womans RIght to vote in New York State

On Sunday, November 5, 2017, the Kenmore Village Improvement Society held a special program at the Kenmore United Methodist Church celebrating the 100th anniversary of a woman's right to vote in New York State.  There were some special guest speakers, as well as people dressed in clothing of the period, music and more!  The Town of Tonawanda Public Library Kenmore Branch created a special brochure for the event.  It contained a selection of titles available through the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library for kids and adults who want to delve deeper into this seminal time in our state and nation's history.  Download your own copy of the brochure HERE.

This year, as a part of Summer Reading at New York Libraries, the State Education Department and the State Library are partnering with myOn to bring free digital books to families via unlimited access to the myON digital library at school and in the local public library. The myOn digital library has a collection of over 6,000 fiction and nonfiction e-books geared toward children from birth to 8th grade, many with recorded audio and other useful features. The collection is freely available for use by all New Yorkers through September 2018.

Kenmore Town of  Tonawanda Friends of the Library is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to supporting Town of Tonawanda libraries and literacy in our area. Save the date!  The Kenmore-Tonawanda Friends of the Library annual "Big Book Sale" takes place September 12 - 15 2018 at the Lincoln Park Arena, 1200 Parker Blvd.  

Wednesday September 12 from 4-8 pm is members night.  Not currently a member? You can join right at the door, $6 for an individual or $8 for a family

Thursday September 13, and Fridat, September 14 10-8 pm.  Free Admission

$5 Bag Sale on Saturday, September 15 from 10 am - 3 pm.


Have materials to donate?  They can be dropped off at the Kenmore or Kenmore Library during their open hours.  We would love your donations of books, DVD's, CD's Audiobooks, puzzles in new or very good condition. (We also love viynl records that are still in good condtion!) We are not able to accept encylopedias, textbooks older than 5 years, VHS tapes, art prints or photocopied materials.  If you have a large amount materials to donate, or have questions about donating please call either Kenmore or Kenilworth library in advance.
