2017 Books for Kids

The annual Books for Kids program collects new children’s books from the generous Western New York community and distributes them to needy children who would not otherwise have a chance to own a book of their own. Local organizations that receive books range from those that service children to those community service organizations that have lending libraries.  See details below about applying to receive a book donation from Books for Kids.

The 2017 drive runs from April 1 - April 30.

Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries are proud supporters of Books for Kids, which has distributed over 2.5 million books to needy organizations, schools and children since it was established in 1995!  In 2016, more than 50,000 new books were collected.

The Books for Kids program is sponsored by

Project Flight,
