The Town of Tonawanda Online Summer Reading Challenge for all ages
July 1 - August 28
The Town of Tonawanda Public Libraries summer reading program returns!
Runs from July 1st through August 28th and is open to all ages!
If this is your first time participating, signing up is easy, just go to

to register or download the app on the Apple App Store or Google Play and search for either Kenmore or Kenilworth.

If you are already signed up from one of our previous reading programs, you will not need to register again!
Sensational Story Time! Thursdays at 10:30 am July 7 – August 4
Stories, songs, games and simple crafts for kids ages 3 -6 with parent or caregiver.
Maybe a dance or two!
Program runs around 45 minutes. Register or just drop in – it all works.
Friday Fun Series
Special events Fridays at 2 pm July 8 - August 5
Shark Day: Friday July 8th at 2 pm
It’s everything shark today with games, puzzles, movie and take home project. Find out more about how sharks live and who they eat. Ages 6 and up. No registration required.
Tie Dye Party: Friday July 15th at 2 pm - Registration required
Bring your own plain, white, previously washed t shirt. All other supplies provided. Space is limited, registration required. 90 minutes.
Mysterious Deep Sea: Friday, July 22 at 2 pm - Registration required
Find out how the angler fish lives as you build a basic circuit. This program is for ages 10 through teen. Please register.
Dog Costume Contest: Friday, July 29 at 2 pm (this is an outdoor event)
Show us your dog’s style! All ages
Pirate Panic: Friday, August 5 at 2 pm
Set sail for pirate fun. Grab your parrot and find the treasure. Then captain your ship through the storm. Ages 6 and up. No registration required.
Super Summer Specials for all ages.
Buffalo Museum of Science Insectigation: Wednesday July 20 2PM
Get up close to some incredible insects! Examine live insects and other critters, observing their anatomy and behavior. Program is limited to 30 participants at a time, pre-registration is required. Registrations will not be accepted before June 20th
Hawk Creek Silent Hunters of the Night: Thursday August 4 2PM
Learn about the myths and reality of owls, and meet 3 owls in person!
Aquarium of Niagara Marine Invertebrates: Wednesday August 17 2PM
Learn about what makes marine invertebrates unique, and how they are adapted to survive in the ocean. You'll get the chance to meet and touch some marine invertebrates too!

Books and Barks
This program for children ages 5-12 is a unique opportunity to work on reading skills in a relaxed and fun environment.
Sign up for a 15 minute session to read to a trained therapy dog. Appointments are available between 4 - 5:30 pm11:30
Presented in partnership with Paws for Love, a program of the SPCA serving Erie County.

Do-it-yourself in this drop in program. Make a button or keychain from a wide selection of graphics. All supplies included. And it's free! Button making is for all ages.

Brick Boxes: A take home building challenge for kids age 6-14
Longing for the days of the Lego League? We miss them too! For the time being however, we are offering a take home version! Come to the Kenilworth Library and check out a box of bricks and a base, work on a cool build and bring it back to the library for us to display! Adult hardcover books are 1.00. Adult paperbacks are .25.
Kid's materials are .50 for hardcover books and .25 for paperbacks.
Media items (DVD, Blu Ray, CD) are $1.00.
Prices include sales tax. Cash only. No refunds.

We are currently not accepting material donations at the Kenilworth Branch. You may be able to donate materials to the Ken-Ton friends of the Library.
