Learning Kits
We have several learning and exploration kits available for a 7-day loan. Borrow an adult coloring kit, birdwatching kit, hiking kit, family gardening kit, and advanced gardener kit. Kits must be returned to the Lancaster Library information desk during open hours.

Literacy Kits
We have several literacy kits to enrich learning for children ages 2 and up. Borrow The Hungry Little Caterpillar kit, Letters kit, Colors & shapes kit, Knitting & Crocheting kit, Fairy Tales STEM kit (theme changes monthly), or Numbers kit. Kits must be returned to the Lancaster Library information desk during open hours. 7-day loan, adult check-out only. These kits are funded from a Beacon grant from the Elks National Foundation.

Memory Kits
Do you have a family member or friend experiencing memory loss? Do you work in an assisted living facility or a nursing home? Memory kits feature a variety of items to inspire memories, discussion, and interaction with people experiencing memory loss. Each kit contains activities such as puzzles, games, books, DVDs, and CDs. Themes are: animals, movies/ tv, history, and games. Kits must be returned to the Lancaster Public Library information desk during open hours.

Seed Library
Our seed library provides free seeds for our community to grow and share. We have a variety of vegetable, herb, and flower seed. Patrons are allowed up to 2 seed packets per growing season (Jan-June and July-December). Seeds have been donated by patrons and seed companies. Seeds can be donated to our library by completing a donation form and bringing the form and seeds to the information desk. It is the goal of the library to promote gardening, seed saving, and seed sharing. Happy gardening!

Yard Games
We have several yard games available for a 7-day loan. Borrow Corn Hole, Giant Jenga, Ring Toss, Bocce, Lawn Darts, Croquet, or Kan Jam for your next party! Yard games must be returned to the Lancaster Library information desk during open hours.

Chicken BBQ
Sunday, July 17, noon until sold out
BW's Chicken BBQ: $13. Chicken dinner includes potato salad, coleslaw, roll with butter, and a cookie. Take out only. Location: Parking lot behind the library. All proceeds to help keep the library open on Sundays during the school year. Sponsored by the Friends of the Lancaster Public Library.

Kidding Around Yoga

Come and enjoy yoga poses, fun music, storytelling, yoga games, and a very special guided relaxation time. For ages 3-6. Registration is required and space is limited. These free sessions are not designed to troubleshoot computer problems or repair hardware. Suggested topics include: Tablet devices, borrowing eBooks/ Libby app, Microsoft Office, scanning, computer basics, internet searching, online library catalog, or email attachments. Battle of the Books Informational Meeting
Thursday, May 26, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Teens and parents can learn about the Lancaster Battle of the Books team for this year. Open to students entering grades 6-9 in the Fall of 2022. Team meetings will take place on Thursdays between June 2nd and July 28th. Battle competition will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 11:30 a.m. Registration required to join the team.

 Paws for Love: Read to a Dog

Plant Swap
Tuesday, May 31, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. (set-up begins at 6:00 p.m.)
Swap your plants with others. Bring seeds or cuttings to share. Please provide care instructions for each plant you bring. The exchange will be held in our carpeted meeting room, so please bring tidy, easily exchangeable units. Do not bring plants that need to be divided.

Dare to Repair Cafe

The Dare to Repair Cafe is a community event where individuals can bring broken items (lamps, small electronics, vacuums, toys, etc.) to the repair cafe and have volunteer Tool Library "fixers" try to repair the item alongside them for free. Author Talk & Book Signing

Local author Iryna (Chutko) Colvin-Spencer, a retired businesswoman and paralegal, will speak about her book Hannia: Forgotten Holocaust Survivor. The book details her late mother's story of survival against all odds. Over the years, Iryna has dedicated herself to serving others in her capacity as a member of the Lancaster Lions Club, Depew-Lancaster Zonta Organization, The Depew Boys & Girls Blub, The Lancaster Youth Bureau, and was the founder of the "Tri Community Girls Club." Summer Kick-off Party
