We have a variety of kits available for a 7-day loan. Kits must be returned to the Lancaster Library information desk during open hours.

Seed Library (pdf)
Our seed library provides free seeds for our community to grow and share. We have a variety of vegetable, herb, and flower seeds. Patrons/families are allowed up to 5 seed packets per year. Seeds have been donated by patrons and seed companies. Seeds can be donated to our library by completing a donation form (pdf) and bringing the form and seeds to the information desk. Teens ages 12-17 can receive a fun, personalized box of library books. Stop by the library to sign-up (parent/guardian must be present) and fill out a survey of what you like to read. After May 23, pick up your box of hand-picked books plus surprises. When finished, bring back the box and books, but keep everything else.

Chicken BBQ Fundraiser (pdf)

The Friends of the Lancaster Public Library invite you to a chicken BBQ: Take out only. BW's Barbecue Chicken Dinner $17 (cash only). Location: Parking lot behind the library. The chicken dinner is cooked on site for guaranteed freshness and includes potato salad, coleslaw, roll with butter, and a cookie. Proceeds will help keep the library open during Sundays during the school year. Thanks for your support.

We the People: A Quilt of Belonging Quilting Workshop (pdf)
Saturday, June 20, 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
In this workshop with artists from Explore & More, children (ages 5-10) will make quilt squares reflecting their family heritage and connection to Erie County. Participants will be invited to contribute their square to a collaborative, county-wide quilt project. The collection of fabric squares will be assembled into a completed quilt and displayed by the library. Indigo Dyeing Workshop (pdf)

Experience the magic of natural indigo dyeing in this hands-on class taught by Darlene Pennachi. Learn how to fold, twist, and dip fabric to create beautiful blue patterns using traditional techniques. Leave with your own hand-dyed creation.
