The West Seneca Public Library's Bookmark Design Contest for 2026 begins on Saturday, June 20th! This contest is for ages 3-17. Grab an entry form from the library or click here to print from home (make sure to print in landscape orientation). Feel free to use entry forms for drafts to get the size right, but remember- only one entry form may be turned in per participant! Entry forms will be due before the library closes at 5pm on Friday, July 31st. The Bookmark Design Contest is sponsored by our Friends of the West Seneca Public Library Group!

 

July 2026- JULY REGISTRATION OPENS FRIDAY, JUNE 12TH

  • Handicraft Club (pdf)-  Join our handicraft club on Mondays from 1:30-3:30pm. We welcome all sorts of handicrafts including knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, and needlework. No food or drink is permitted in the Makerspace.
  • Baby & Me (pdf)- On Wednesday, July 1st, 15th, and 29th at 9:30 or 10:30am, babies ages 0-24 months and their parent or guardian can join Miss Emily for a fun lap-sit story time session.   • Toddler Time with Stay and Play (pdf)- On Thursday, July 2nd, 23rd and 30th at 10:30am, toddlers ages 2 to 4 and their parent or guardian can join Miss Emily for a fun story time session plus time to stay and play.   • Family STEAM: Dino Discovery Eggs (pdf)- Join Miss Emily on Tuesday, July 7th at 5:30pm for a Family STEAM activity with dinosaur eggs. Explore reactions using things like baking soda and vinegar, and try to hatch your dino from the egg! Space will be limited and registration is required.   • Toddler Music with Miss Jessica: Parachutes (pdf)- Toddlers can join Miss Jessica for a music program on Wednesday, July 8th at 2pm. Space will be limited and registration is required. Please call 716-674-2928 or stop by the library to register!
  • Kid's Fuse Beads (pdf)- Thursday, July 9th from 5pm-6:30pm. Choose a design and create your own decorations with Perler Beads! Recommended for ages 6 and up. Children under 6 years old must be attended by an adult.  All materials will be provided by the library. Space will be limited and registration is required.   • The Ebenezers: West Seneca's Community of True Inspiration with Jim Pace (pdf)- Join local historian Jim Pace on Monday, July 13th at 6pm for a presentation on The Ebenezers: West Seneca's Community of True Inspiration.   • Book a Technology Trainer (pdf)- Need computer assistance?  We can help!  These free 45 minutes sessions are designed to assist with software support or Internet training. Our next sessions will take place on Tuesday, July 14th between 1:30pm and 5:30pm. Topics include training on the Microsoft Office suite and even how to download books onto your tablet or phone. Sessions are on the hour, and registration is required by calling 716-674-2928 or stopping by the West Seneca Public Library information desk.
  • Music with Miss Jessica: Ukulele (pdf)- Join Miss Jessica for a ukulele program on Tuesday, July 14th at 3pm. This program is best for ages 5-12. Space will be limited and registration is required. Please call 716-674-2928 or stop by the library to register!

  • Teen Advisory Group (TAG) Meeting (pdf)- Teens can join us on Thursday, July 16th for a Teen Advisory Group (TAG) meeting at 6pm. TAG members will help provide insight on how to better serve teens, help plan and implement programs, meet new people, and gain volunteer hours, experience, and leadership skills.   • Sensory Friday: Taste Safe Sensory Beach (pdf)- Miss Emily will be hosting Sensory Fridays during summer reading! Join her on Friday, July 17th at 10:30am to explore a taste safe sensory beach!   • University Express: The Silver Age of Disney Part 2: The Park (1950-1967) (pdf)- People ages 50+ can join University Express for an informative program on part 2 of the Silver Age of Disney.   • University Express: Severe Weather Hazards Across Western New York (pdf)- People ages 50+ can join University Express for an informative program on weather hazards in Western New York.   • Bluey Party (pdf)- We're having another Bluey Party! Families with kids of all ages (best for ages 1 year and up) can join us on Friday, July 24th at 2pm for a fun-filled Bluey Party!   • Bad Art: Dinosaur Edition (pdf)- Do you think you're bad at art? Would you like to see for yourself? Join Miss Susan on Saturday, July 25th at 11:30am for Bad Art: Dinosaur Edition!   • Senior Sunshine Senders: Card Making (pdf)- Help the Senior Sunshine Senders brighten someone's day! They create greeting cards at the West Seneca Public Library on the third Tuesday of each month, and donate them to Elder Care Facilities in West Seneca, Hamburg, and Cheektowaga (coming soon to Tonawanda!). A small card can make a BIG difference. They will be meeting at the West Seneca Public Library from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday, August 18th! Learn more on their Facebook page: Senior Sunshine Senders.

Friends of the West Seneca Public Library

The Friends of the West Seneca Public Library are community members with an interest in supporting the services offered by the library. The Friends also provide funding for books, programs and supplies for children and adults.  

The Friends have an ongoing fundraiser!  Purchase a personalized, hand-carved wooden book which will be displayed in the library over the fireplace!  Full details here (pdf).

West Seneca School Yearbook Collection

The West Seneca Public Library now has several West Seneca school yearbooks (pdf) available for in-library use.  A list of the volumes included in the collection (along with volumes that we do not yet have) can be found via the link above.
