November 2026- NOVEMBER REGISTRATION OPENED FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9TH 

  • Handicraft Club (pdf)-  Join our handicraft club on Mondays from 1:30-3:30pm. We welcome all sorts of handicrafts including knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, and needlework. No food or drink is permitted in the Makerspace.
  • Young Makers Society (pdf)- Beginning in October 2026, kids ages 6-12 can join Miss Emily for our new Young Makers Society. Session dates for Fall/Winter 2026 are: Monday, October 12th and 19th, November 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd, and December 7th and 14th. All sessions take place at 5:30pm. Young Makers Society will be 8-session programs, each focusing on an aspect of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Each session during Fall/Winter 2026, participants will explore an Engineering Topic through stories and a hands-on challenge. The final session, held December 14th, will be a showcase where students will show their families what they learned. Registering for this program signs your child up for all 8 of the sessions!   • University Express: Cri-cut for Beginners (pdf)- On Monday, November 2nd at 6pm, University Express will be hosting a course on how to use a Cricut machine and explore Design Space, the program that brings your projects to life.   • University Express: Buffalo CRI: Crime, Romance, and Intrigue (pdf)- On Tuesday, November 10th at 10am, University Express will be hosting a talk on crime, romance, and intrigue in Buffalo's history. The presenter will go over four stories that span decades from the 1880s to the roaring 1920s. University Express classes are for patrons ages 50 and up.   • Senior Sunshine Senders: Card Making (pdf)- Help the Senior Sunshine Senders brighten someone's day! They will be meeting at the West Seneca Public Library from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday, November 17th! They create greeting cards at the West Seneca Public Library on the third Tuesday of each month, and donate them to Elder Care Facilities in West Seneca, Hamburg, and Cheektowaga (coming soon to Tonawanda!).   • Deception Awareness and Resilience Training: Grandparent Scams (pdf)- Join Deception Awareness and Resilience Training (DART) for an informative session on Grandparent Scams- where the bad guys pretend to be a loved one to gain your trust.   • Teen Advisory Group (TAG) Meeting (pdf)- Teens can join us on Thursday, November 19th for a Teen Advisory Group (TAG) meeting at 6pm. TAG members will help provide insight on how to better serve teens, help plan and implement programs, meet new people, and gain volunteer hours, experience, and leadership skills.   • Stuffie Sleepover (pdf)- Your stuffie can join Miss Emily at the library for a fun stuffie sleepover! Drop your stuffie off on Friday, November 27th at 4pm and then pick them up Saturday, November 28th at 11am to see what shenanigans they got up to!   • Holiday Wrapping Paper Swap- Join us any time between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, December 5th for a holiday wrapping paper swap! Bring what you can and take what you need!   • Forging Your Own Path: Name Changes and Advanced Planning for LGBTQ+ New Yorkers- This training takes place on Monday, December 7th at 4:30pm and is recommended for those ages 18+. The training will focus on self-determination for Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming, and Non-Binary adults. Topics covered will be name changes and identity documents, a short overview of anti-discrimination laws, with focus on the right to use preferred name and pronouns in healthcare settings, and healthcare proxies and other advance planning documents. Attendees will learn how to purse a name change and the benefits of advanced planning for LGBTQIA individuals and families.   • University Express: Puzzle-Exchange (pdf)- On Tuesday, December 8th at 1pm, University Express will be hosting a holiday-themed puzzle-swap. Arrive between 1pm and 2pm to drop off your puzzles and receive one ticket for every puzzle you bring. Then relax and enjoy hot cocoa and holiday cookies while the puzzles are sorted. When the Holiday Puzzle Swap "shop" opens, it's time to browse! Use your tickets to select the same number of puzzles to take home. Leftover puzzles will be donated to our Erie County Senior Centers. New York boasts some of the most dynamic and world-renowned geological features in North America. Learn about how towering layers of the Niagara Escarpment were formed, and how local rock formations influence everything from our landscape to our regional history.   • Book a Technology Trainer (pdf)- Need computer assistance?  We can help!  These free 45 minutes sessions are designed to assist with software support or Internet training. Our next sessions will take place on Thursday, December 10th between 10am and 4pm. Topics include training on the Microsoft Office suite and even how to download books onto your tablet or phone.   • Your Self, Your Rights: LGBTQ+ Youth and the Law- This training takes place on Monday, December 14th at 4:30pm and is recommended for youth and young adults ages 12+. The training will serve as a Know-Your-Rights session for LGBTQ+ youth. Friends of the West Seneca Public Library

The Friends of the West Seneca Public Library are community members with an interest in supporting the services offered by the library. The Friends also provide funding for books, programs and supplies for children and adults.  

The Friends have an ongoing fundraiser!  Purchase a personalized, hand-carved wooden book which will be displayed in the library over the fireplace!  Full details here (pdf).

Next meeting: The next Friends meeting date is Monday, January 11th, 2027 at 4:30pm.
