September 2024- SEPTEMBER REGISTRATION OPENS FRIDAY, AUGUST 9TH

  • Knitting & Crochet Circle (pdf)-  Mondays from 1:30-3:00 PM (in-person program).  Space will be limited. - Meetings will take place outside the library on Monday, July 1st and Monday, July 8th.
  • Family Story Time (pdf)- Families with kids of all ages are welcome to join us at Family Story Time on Tuesday, September 3rd at 6pm. This story time will feature the children's author, Dr. Unseld Robinson! Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
  • Lego Club (pdf)-  Saturday, September 14th from 10:30 AM-12 PM and 2 PM-3:30 PM.  For ages 5 to 12. Free build with single-person Lego bins and selectable mini figures. Space will be limited and registration is required. Please call 716-674-2928 or visit the library to register or for more information.
  • Kids Craft Night (pdf)- Kids ages 5-12 can join Miss Emily for a fun parachute person craft on Monday, September 16th at 5pm. Space will be limited and registration is required. Please call 716-674-2928 or stop by the library to register or for more information.
  • Fuse Beads (pdf)- Thursday, September 19th from 5pm-6:30pm. Choose a design and create your own decorations with Perler Beads! Recommended for Ages 6+. Children under 6 years old must be attended by an adult.  All materials will be provided by the library.  Space will be limited and registration is required.   • Bookmark Making with the West Seneca Art Society (pdf)- Join the West Seneca Art Society any time between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, September 21st to make your very own bookmark! This all-ages activity is taking place during Burchfest, and will be held in the Makerspace. Registration is not required. For more information, call the West Seneca Public Library at 716-674-2928.
  • The Genius of Charles E. Burchfield: Making the Ordinary Extraordinary (pdf)-  This presentation will be done by Mary Marino Kozub on Saturday, September 21st at 11am in the Community Room. This Burchfest event will have limited space and registration is required. Please call 716-674-2928 or stop by the library to register or for more information.
  • Book a Technology Trainer (pdf)- Need computer assistance?  We can help!  These free 45 minutes sessions are designed to assist with software support or Internet training. Our next sessions will take place on Tuesday, September 24th between 10am and 4pm. Topics include training on the Microsoft Office suite and even how to download books onto your tablet or phone. Sessions are on the hour, and registration is required by calling 716-674-2928 or stopping by the West Seneca Public Library information desk.
  • Baby & Me (pdf)- You and your baby (ages 0-24 months) can join Miss Emily for Baby & Me! Wednesdays at 9:30am on September 25th and October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th! This program will take place in the library's Community Room. Space will be limited and registering signs you up for every session- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
  • Toddler Time (pdf)- Toddlers (ages 2 to 3 1/2) can join us with their parent or guardian on Thursdays at 10am or 11am on September 26th and October 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st for Toddler Time! Space will be limited.   • Teen Art Night: Paint 'n Sip (pdf)- Teens ages 11-17 can join us for a fun painting night on Thursday, September 26th at 5:30pm. Space will be limited and registration is required. Please call 716-674-2928 or stop by the library to register or for more information.
  • Author Talk with John Koerner (pdf)- Four guns. Four assassinations. Four potential conspiracies. Four alternate histories. What if Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley, and Kennedy had survived assassination? Where are these weapons that changed US history? Follow the clues into the alternate universe where these presidents lived on. How would history be different? Join author John Koerner on Saturday, September 28th at 11am as he talks about his latest book- The Four Guns. Space will be limited and registration is required.   • West Seneca Public Library Book Club (pdf)- Monday, September 30th at 6:30 PM.   • Independent Preschool Story Time- Preschoolers (ages 3 1/2 to 5) can join Miss Emily for a 10-week parent-free Preschool Story Time at 6pm, starting on Tuesday, October 1st and continuing through October 8th, 15th, 22nd; November 5th 12th, and 19th, and December 3rd, 10th, and 17th. 
  • Pumpkin Painting Contest (pdf)- Join us for our pumpkin painting contest on either Monday, October 7th or Tuesday, October 8th starting at 5pm both days! For kids ages 5-17. Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.

  • Halloween Family Story Time and Library Trick or Treat! (pdf)- Families with kids of all ages are welcome to join us at Family Story Time and Library Trick or Treating at 6pm on Tuesday, October 29th! Space will be limited. Friends of the West Seneca Public Library

The Friends of the West Seneca Public Library are community members with an interest in supporting the services offered by the library. The Friends also provide funding for books, programs and supplies for children and adults.  

The Friends have an ongoing fundraiser!  Purchase a personalized, hand-carved wooden book which will be displayed in the library over the fireplace!  Full details here (pdf).

Next meeting: The next Friends meeting will take place on Monday, November 4th at 6:30pm in the West Seneca Public Library Community Room.

 

West Seneca School Yearbook Collection

The West Seneca Public Library now has several West Seneca school yearbooks (pdf) available for in-library use.  A list of the volumes included in the collection (along with volumes that we do not yet have) can be found via the link above.
