Library Cards for Educators and Students
Library Cards
Library cards are free to residents of New York State and can be used at any of our 37 Library locations and with our Mobile Services including the Library on Wheels Bookmobile. There is no age restriction on who may get a card. However, if you are under 17 you do need permission from your parent or legal guardian.
Student Digital Cards
Digital Library cards are available for your students. These cards provide remote access to the Library’s digital materials and resources and do not require parental/legal guardian permission to sign up.
Educator Cards
If you are a teacher employed at a Pre-K–12 school, a homeschool educator or a daycare provider living or working in Erie County, and you have a personal Library card in good standing, you are eligible for an Educator Library card. These cards allow up to 100 items to be checked out for a 6-week loan period and are separate from your personal Library card.
Agency Cards (PDF)
Any business, agency, or community organization conducting business or engaged in activity in Erie County, may submit an application for an Agency Library card accompanied with a statement on organization letterhead authorizing an individual to accept financial responsibility on behalf of the agency for the use of Library resources.
