Children’s Programs
Book Babies Join our librarian, Ana, on Friday, April 17 for baby story time! Let’s bounce, play, sing, and read together with hands-on books, bubbles, and a short open sensory playtime! For caregivers and their little ones up to 18 months old. Registration is REQUIRED and begins April 3 at 10 am. Register online or call Clarence Public Library at (716) 741-2650 to reserve a spot. Space is limited. *For safety concerns, please understand that no child over 18 months may attend this event. Ages: Up to 18 months
Read&Play (PDF) Enjoy a story and song followed by open play. Preregistration is required. March 25 for April. Ages: Walkers, toddlers, and preschool-age children with caregivers

Talecraft (PDF)Tuesdays at 11:00 AM Explore stories and activities to encourage a love of reading. Includes singing, reading, talking, and crafting. Ages: 3–6 years and their caregivers.

LEGO Club (PDF) Wednesday, April 1 and 22, 2026, at 4:00 PM. Registration begins March 18 and April 1. For children ages 5 to 12.
Oakley in the Library (PDF): What do you get when you bring children, dogs and books together? You get happy, confident children who love to read. Therapy Dogs International (TDI) is a volunteer group organized to provide qualified handlers and their therapy dogs for visitation in a variety of facilities and settings. Register to read for a 15-minute session to Oakley, our therapy dog from Therapy Dogs International. Select Saturdays from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Next date Saturday, April 18, 2026.
Intergenerational Programs
Makery (PDF) This is a maker-focused program with a new project each month. At 4:30 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Registration begins April 1. Everyone over the age of six (to 100+) is welcome. Register online or by phone at 716-741-2650. The program will offer the supplies and support to make an authentic creation. In April, we are making diamond butterflies and painting floral plaster molds.
Hooked on Crochet Monday, April 6, 2026, at 4:00–5:30 PM. Call 716-741-2650 to register. Learn how to crochet and read patterns or just come to crochet with some company! Beginners and experienced crocheters are welcome! Recommended ages 12+. Registration required and will begin March 23.
Literacy Night (PDF): A community focused evening of fun and celebration of reading with structured literacy activities for children at every step of their reading journey. Thursday, April 16, 2026, 5:00-8:00 PM. Will include visits from Sabretooth and Oakley, the therapy dog. No registration necessary. Individuals in need of accommodation may contact the ADA Coordinator at access@buffalolib.org within 7 days of the program.
Teen Programs
Growing with Others Neurodivergent Social Group meets 1st Tuesday of every month (Tuesday, 4/7/26) 6:30PM–8:00PM. Patty is a licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years in the Human Services fields, working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. Adult Programs
A Study in Sherlock: Monday, April 6, 2026, at 6:30 PM. Call to register. For April’s installment we will be discussing Adventure of the Missing Three-Quarter. Call 716-741-2650 to register.
Chair Yoga Series: Thursdays at 2:00 PM. April 9 and April 16, 2026, will be at 2:00 PM. Registration begins March 26. Instructor Donna Fairlie CYT-200, DJ Gentle Yoga, LLC. Specializing in mobility challenged.
Mindfulness Meditation Event: Meditation is self-care and Awareness. Meditation boosts health and well-being. Meditation promotes inner peace for world peace! Chair seating available. Every second Monday of the month at 6:00 PM on April 13, 2026, 2026. Registration begins March 30.
Venice: The Floating City with Bob Poczik (PDF): April 20, 2026, at 7:00 PM. Registration begins April 6. Venice was founded after the fall of the Roman Empire, when people in northern Italy fled before invading tribes from Germany. Seeking refuge in salt marshes and mudflats off the coast of Italy, they invented an ingenious process for building on water rather than land. Venice went on to become a great maritime power, at one point having the largest navy in the world. Respected presenter Bob Poczik will take those attending on a splendid visual journey from Venice’s founding to its current state as one of the world’s great wonders and a major attraction for people from all over the world.
