Educator Things to Borrow

Items that can be borrowed from the library including board games and books.

Catalog 

Our catalog can be searched by topic keywords like “Trains” or “Halloween” to find a number of books. You can also use the Audience filter in the left column to narrow your search by age category.

Book Club in a Bag

Each Book Club in a Bag kit contains 10 copies of the selected book, a large print edition if available, an audiobook if available, a reading guide and an information/contents sheet. Kits can be checked out on any Adult Library card for use in your classroom.

Storytime in a Bag 

Ideal for preschools, daycare centers, and homeschool groups, Storytime in a Bag is a book club for little ones. Each Storytime in a Bag kit includes 15 of the same board book, along with a copy for facilitators to read aloud, so each child has their own copy to hold and explore. Each kit comes with early literacy tips. Bags can be checked out on your Educator Library card for use in your classroom or daycare center.

Library of Things

Many locations allow you to borrow more than books, music and videos! Metal detectors, CPR kits, robots, movie projectors–m-each location has unique inventory and rules. Please see each location on the webpage linked for information.

Graphic Novel Classroom Kit 

Each Graphic Novel Classroom Kit contains 30 copies of the selected book, subject-specific audio/visual material, a folder of support materials and an information/contents sheet. Kits can be checked out on your Educator Library card for use in your classroom.

NASA Backpacks 

Be a Space Explorer! The backpack contains everything you will need to get started, including an Orion FunScope 76mm telescope, Code & Go Robot Mouse, charts, books and instructions. NASA backpacks can be checked out on your Educator Library card for use in your classroom.

Gaming Unplugged 

Board games, card games, and other tabletop games for people of all ages can be sent directly to your preferred Library location. While there are games for all ages in the Gaming Unplugged collection, patrons must be at least 17 years old to borrow them. Games can be checked out on your Educator Library card for use in your classroom.

Road2Reading 

A free service from the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library that brings children's materials to Erie County preschools and daycare centers in order to promote early literacy. Material is dropped off and picked up on a monthly basis with the Library2GO van.
