The Library has many resources that can benefit English Language Learners. These materials and programs can be found all over Erie County.

Lists are created by our librarians for different topics, genres and themes. We currently offer Booklists for Kids and Their Grownups. Stay tuned — we’re working on Booklists for Teens.

Early Literacy

Our Subject Guide on Education lists useful resources for students, parents/guardians of students, and educators, including local education organizations, information about standardized tests, scholastic databases, and more.

School Reading List

Each year, the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library posts summer reading lists from
area schools on our website. We invite you to submit your school’s reading list for inclusion.

College Info

Our Subject Guide on College has information about choosing colleges, applying for scholarships, preparing for exams, and FAFSA. There are also links to local colleges and universities.

Job Info

Our Subject Guide on Jobs and Careers has information on how to obtain employment for students who are looking to join the workforce. They can learn what skills are needed for different positions, view current employment opportunities, and apply for jobs. This page includes links to local and statewide Civil Service exams, videos on how to apply for your first job, and Library materials to help write resumes.
