    Location

    In the community of Snyder (within the Town of Amherst) on the north side of Main Street near the corner of Burroughs Drive, two lights east of Harlem Road and two lights west of the I-290, Exit 7B. Driveway to parking lot is on the west side of Burroughs Drive, behind the church and parking is behind the library toward the right. Accessible entrances at the door facing Main Street and the covered entrance adjacent to the church parking lot.

    • Public Access Computers
      For adults, 9 desktop computers and 1 laptop for in-library use -- with Microsoft Office Applications (2016), Internet Access, etc.; Flatbed scanner available;
      2 computers dedicated for the Online Catalog;
      3 computers dedicated for youth;
      Printing and Mobile Printing charges: Black & White 10 cents per page, Color 25 cents per page. "What can I do at a Public Access Computer?"
    • Main Meeting Room, capacity 37. Please review the Library Meeting Room Policy prior to booking, there are 6 tables & 30 chairs available for use. Please note that capacity does not take into account chairs or tables. Groups may specify setup needs, but are responsible for final placement. There is a TV with HDMI capabilities and its use must be requested at time of reservation.

    • Small Meeting Room (used for library events, community use must be granted permission by librarian, 1 table and 4 chairs may be requested, but may be limited based on the larger room’s use).
    • Copy machine, black & white only, 20¢ per copy
    • Self check-out machines using RFID technology.

    • Ongoing book sale in hallway.

    What's Special About this Amherst Public Library

    • We host a wide variety of events for all ages and fundraise by having big book sales throughout the year.
    • We offer an extensive collection of non-print materials, including DVDs/Blu-Rays, audiobooks on CD and many genres of music CDs. The Amherst Libraries also have a Library of Things collection and read-along books for youth (VOX & Wonderbooks).

    • The Eggertsville-Snyder Library has a small Playroom with toys, best for children 6 and under. Caregivers must supervise children and the room closes 30 minutes prior to the library closing. The room was renovated in September 2024 with funds acquired from New York State by Assembly member Karen McMahon.
