    Copy machine: 15 cents each for black & white, 30 cents for color for 8 1/2 x 11 sheet.

    Volunteer Opportunities

    Volunteer Policy

    Individuals interested in volunteering at the B&ECPL must fill out a Volunteer Application and a Volunteer Liability Waiver and Release form.  Volunteers under the age of 17 will be designated as Junior Volunteers and must have parental approval to volunteer. 

    Volunteers will be accepted based on the library’s project and programmatic needs matched with the individuals’ qualifications/interests as determined during the selection process.  The library may not accept every volunteer application.  A background check and/or reference checking may be required before any volunteer can begin an assignment.


    Community Room Reservation Requests

    Library Meeting Room Policy

    Community Room Reservation Requests are made online via a link on the Town of West Seneca web site.  West Seneca Public Library events and certain Town of West Seneca meeting functions receive priority for scheduling purposes.

    Beyond these West Seneca Public Library or Town events, the Community Room is intended for use for free public events, workshops, educational classes and meetings.  Documentation naming the Town of West Seneca as additional insured during a meeting/event will be required.  

    A representative of the West Seneca Public Library or Town of West Seneca will respond to the online Community Room Reservation Request as soon as possible.

    Study Room Policy

    The West Seneca Public Library features 5 study rooms available for use during regular library hours.  The rooms are intended for informal individual or small group use and are not to be used for commercial purposes.  Rooms may be booked for up to 2 hours per day.  For more information or to book a time slot, please stop by the library or call us at 674-2928.

    The West Seneca Public Library is a member of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System.

    • Online Summer Reading Contest- For kids, teens, and adults! Starts June 1st and runs until August 13th! Submit book reviews and be eligible to win prizes. Each brief book review counts as one entry. For details and to register visit http://becplny08.readsquared.com/Default.aspx
    • Knitting & Crochet Circle-  Mondays from 1:30-3:00 PM (in-person program).  Space will be limited.  Social distancing will be practiced.  Masks are not required, but are encouraged.
    • Hats Galore- Join us on June 1st at 10am for stories and crafts all about hats! Ages 1-4. Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
    • Lego Club- Saturday, June 3rd and 17th, from 10:30 AM-12 PM and 2 PM-3:30 PM.  For ages 5 to 12. Free build with single-person Lego bins and selectable mini figures. Space will be limited and registration is required. Please call 674-2928 or visit the library for more information.
    • Crayon Story Time- Join us for Crayon Story Time on Tuesday, June 6th at 6pm for stories and crafts all about crayons! For ages 5-10. Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
    • Shapes Story Time- Join us on Thursday, June 8th at 10am for a story time and crafts all about shapes! Ages 1-4. Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
    • Scrape Painting for Teens-  Thursday, June 8th from 5pm-6pm. For ages 12-17. Come try your hand at abstract painting by scraping acrylic paint on canvas! Space will be limited and registration is required. Please call 716-674-2928 or stop by the library for more information or to register.
    • Father’s Day Card Making- Stop by the Makerspace on Monday, June 12th at 5pm and create a Father’s Day card for Dad, Grandpa, an Uncle, or anyone else you would like to celebrate! All ages. Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
    • Rocket Story Time- Join us on Tuesday, June 13th at 6pm for stories about space and a chance to design your own rocket! Ages 5-10. Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.

    • Fuse Beads- Thursday, June 15th from 5pm-6:30pm. Choose a design and create your own decorations with Perler Beads! Recommended for Ages 6+. Children under 6 years old must be attended by an adult.  All materials will be provided by the library.  Space will be limited and registration is required. Masks and social distancing are encouraged.  To register, please visit the library or call 674-2928.
    • Food Safety: It's Picnic Season!-  Join the Cornell Cooperative Extension inside the MakerSpace from 11am-12pm on Tuesday, June 20th for a lesson on food safety, specifically regarding picnic season!     • Ocean Story Time- Join us on Tuesday, June 20th at 6pm for stories and crafts all about the ocean! Ages 5-10. Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
    • Let’s Learn Numbers- Join us on Thursday, June 22nd at 10am for stories and crafts all about numbers and counting! Ages 1-4. Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
    • The Battle of the Books Information Session for the West Seneca Battle of the Books team will be Monday, June 26th at 5:30pm-6:30pm in the West Seneca Public Library Community Room! For students entering 6th through 9th grade. Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
    • West Seneca Public Library Book Club-  Monday, June 26th at 6:30 PM (in-person program in the Library Makerspace). Discussing The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. Space will be limited. Social distancing will be practiced.  Masks are not required, but are encouraged.
    • Book-A-Tech Trainer- Tuesday, June 27th between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Need computer assistance?  We can help!  These free 45 minutes sessions are designed to assist with software support or Internet training.  Topics include training on the Microsoft Office suite and even how to download books onto your tablet or iPhone. Sessions are on the hour, and pre-registration is required by calling 716-674-2928 or stopping by the West Seneca Public Library information desk.
    • Movie Night at the Library- Join us on Tuesday, June 27th at 5:40pm to watch The Bad Guys. All ages! Registration is not required but it is encouraged! For questions or to register call 716-674-2928 or stop by the library.
    • Roller Coasters- Ages 11-17. Thursday, June 29th at 2pm! Design and build your own rollercoaster out of cardboard in this fun teen STEAM program! All materials will be provided.     • Drum a Beat- Join us on Friday, June 30th at 11am for a musical program! Come play on tubanos and yoga balls. With your drumming skills, we'll make music come alive! Ages 6-11. Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.

    Friends of the West Seneca Public Library

    The Friends of the West Seneca Public Library are community members with an interest in supporting the services offered by the library. The Friends also provide funding for books, programs and supplies for children and adults.  

    The Friends have an ongoing fundraiser!  Purchase a personalized, hand-carved wooden book which will be displayed in the library over the fireplace!  Full details here.

    West Seneca School Yearbook Collection

    The West Seneca Public Library now has several West Seneca school yearbooks available for in-library use.  A list of the volumes included in the collection (along with volumes that we do not yet have) can be found HERE.  

    A special thank you to the West Seneca Central School District and the West Seneca West alumni for their generous efforts in helping to assemble this collection of yearbooks!
