    Copy machine: 15 cents each for black & white, 30 cents for color for 8 1/2 x 11 sheet.

    Laptops are available for checkout to use within the library with a valid library card.

    Sit-down, full-color, auto-focus video magnifier unit available for public use in the library (16 levels of magnification).

    Volunteer Opportunities

    Volunteer Policy

    Individuals interested in volunteering at the B&ECPL must fill out a Volunteer Application and a Volunteer Liability Waiver and Release form.  Volunteers under the age of 17 will be designated as Junior Volunteers and must have parental approval to volunteer. 

    Volunteers will be accepted based on the library’s project and programmatic needs matched with the individuals’ qualifications/interests as determined during the selection process.  The library may not accept every volunteer application.  A background check and/or reference checking may be required before any volunteer can begin an assignment.


    Community Room Reservation Requests

    Library Meeting Room Policy

    Community Room Reservation Requests are made online via a link on the Town of West Seneca web site.  West Seneca Public Library events and certain Town of West Seneca meeting functions receive priority for scheduling purposes.

    Beyond these West Seneca Public Library or Town events, the Community Room is intended for use for free public events, workshops, educational classes and meetings.  Documentation naming the Town of West Seneca as additional insured during a meeting/event will be required.  

    A representative of the West Seneca Public Library or Town of West Seneca will respond to the online Community Room Reservation Request as soon as possible.

    Study Room Policy

    The West Seneca Public Library features 5 study rooms available for use during regular library hours.  The rooms are intended for informal individual or small group use and are not to be used for commercial purposes.  Rooms may be booked for up to 2 hours per day.  For more information or to book a time slot, please stop by the library or call us at 674-2928.

    The West Seneca Public Library is a member of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System.

    • Knitting & Crochet Circle-  Mondays from 1:30-3:00 PM (in-person program).  Space will be limited.  Social distancing will be practiced.  Masks are not required, but are encouraged.

    • Gardenville Neighbors: Remembering the Burchfield's with Joan Albarella- Thursday, March 2nd at 6:30 p.m. West Seneca Public Library Community Room! This informal presentation uses Charles Burchfield’s Gardenville-inspired artwork as a backdrop to a storyfilled PowerPoint presentation based on growing up next door to the famous artist and his family. Bring your own remembrances of the artist, Gardenville, Ebenezer, or any “Back in the day” for sharing. Joan is Professor Emerita for SUNY Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center, poet, novelist, playwright, and Burchfield chronicler for over 35 years.     • Scrape Painting for Teens- Thursday, March 9th from 5pm-6pm! Come have fun creating abstract art by scraping acrylic paint! Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.

    • Lego Club- Saturday, March 11th and 25th, from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM.  For ages 5 to 12. Free build with single-person Lego bins and selectable mini figures. Space will be limited and registration is requiredMasks are not required, but are encouraged. Please call 674-2928 or visit the library for more information.

    • St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt- Join us Thursday, March 16th through Saturday, March 18th for a fun and family-friendly scavenger hunt! Stop in any time during our open hours, and grab a scavenger hunt log from the circulation desk. Once you've found all the items, turn your log in for a prize! Registration is not required for this event. Call 716-674-2928 for more information!

    • Fuse Beads- Thursday, March 16th, from 5:00-6:30 PM. For ages 6 and up. Choose a design and create your own decorations with Perler Beads. Space will be limited and registration is required.  Masks are not required, but are encouraged. Please call 674-2928 or visit the library for more information.

    • West Seneca Public Library Book Club-  Monday, March 27th at 6:30 PM (in-person program in the Library Makerspace). Discussing The Premonition by Michael Lewis. Space will be limited. Social distancing will be practiced.  Masks are not required, but are encouraged.

    • Book-A-Tech Trainer- Tuesday, March 28th between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Need computer assistance?  We can help!  These free 45 minutes sessions are designed to assist with software support or Internet training.  Topics include training on the Microsoft Office suite and even how to download books onto your tablet or iPhone. Sessions are on the hour, and pre-registration is required by calling 716-674-2928 or stopping by the West Seneca Public Library information desk!

Space will be limited and registration is required- only one program session per child- both programs are the same! Masks are not required, but are encouraged.     • Easter Egg Zipline- Wednesday, April 5th from 2pm to 3pm. Join us for a fun event for teens ages 12-17! Design and create a harness for your egg to travel down the zipline. A race at the end will determine which materials and designs work best! All materials will be provided.     • Teen Poetry Night- Thursday April 13th from 5pm-6pm. Try out different types of poetry! Build a poem with Legos, experiment with Black-out Poetry, and work on an original. Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.

    • Will the Real Millard Fillmore Please Stand Up?- Monday, April 17th at 6:30pm in the West Seneca Public Library Community Room. Come join us for an author talk with Rachelle Moyer Francis to discuss her book Will the Real Millard Fillmore Please Stand Up? Millard Fillmore led three political parties, had two very opposite wives and is lambasted for being pro-slavery and opulent. Yet, he was possibly the poorest man to become president and one of the few non-slave-holders. Francis’s biography of Millard Fillmore searches for the man behind it all. Space will be limited and registration will be required!     Friends of the West Seneca Public Library

    The Friends of the West Seneca Public Library are community members with an interest in supporting the services offered by the library. The Friends also provide funding for books, programs and supplies for children and adults.  

    The Friends have an ongoing fundraiser!  Purchase a personalized, hand-carved wooden book which will be displayed in the library over the fireplace!  Full details here.

    West Seneca School Yearbook Collection

    The West Seneca Public Library now has several West Seneca school yearbooks available for in-library use.  A list of the volumes included in the collection (along with volumes that we do not yet have) can be found HERE.  

    A special thank you to the West Seneca Central School District and the West Seneca West alumni for their generous efforts in helping to assemble this collection of yearbooks!
