      What's new in the library?

      • Elma Cooks! Cookbook Club - Wednesday, February 25that 6 PM. Join us for our cookbook club! Meet fellow foodies, cookbook enthusiasts and wonderful people who will enrich your culinary interests. This month's cookbook is “The Princess Bride: The Official Cookbook”. Browse the book and sign up at the front desk.

      • Unwind - Monday, March 2nd at 4 PM. A casual fiber arts group (the point is to hang out and make things). For ages 6-12. Bring a project you are working on, or participate in the month's activity. We will explore different fiber arts such as crocheting, knitting, weaving, sewing, embroidering, felting.       • Romantasy Book Club - Monday, March 2nd at 6:30 PM. We will be discussing "Black Dagger Brotherhood: Dark Lover" by J.R. Ward. No registration required. 

      • Family Storytime - Choose one of three meeting times: Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays from March 3rd to April 2nd at 10:30 AM. For ages birth to 5 years old. This is a 6-week session. Treat your kids to some songs and stories! Children must bring an adult lap to sit on. Please register by calling 716-652-2719.

      • Toddler Dance Class - Friday, March 6th at 10:30 AM. Join us for a creative movement, musicality, dance, fitness and tumbling class with Miss Stacey. For ages 18 months to 3 years. Please register by calling 716-652-2719.

      • Celebrate Pout Pout Fish - Saturday, March 7th from 11 AM to 1 PM. Sensory play, crafts and activities throughout the library. From 11 AM to 1 PM. Please register by calling 716-652-2719.

      • FeedMore WNY - Thursday, March 12th at from 12 PM to 1 PM (weather permitting). Stop by to purchase fresh, healthy, affordable and locally grown produce Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month! The Farm Market accepts cash, debit/credit, tap to pay & SNAP/EBT (50% off)!

      • Writing Workshop - Thursday, March 12th at 1 PM. This is a creative writing workshop for anyone interested in gathering and writing on a suggested topic, and sharing their stories with the group. No experience is required. For the first session the presenter will suggest a topic, we will take time to write and read our stories out loud. Each writer can suggest topics for the next scheduled meeting and we will vote. All you need is paper, a pen, and an hour to share a few thoughts. Please register by calling 716-652-2719. 

      • Lego Club - Saturday, March 14th at 1 PM. For ages 6-12. Join us for some Lego-building fun. We provide the Legos, and you build! Please call 716-652-2719 to register.

      • Adult Chair Yoga - Mondays, March 16, 23 and 30 and April 6 and 13 at 1 PM. Yoga in a chair?! Yes! You don’t need to get down on the floor to experience the benefits of yoga. This class will include both seated postures and standing postures that use a chair for support. All fitness levels are welcome. A yoga mat to place under the chair is recommended.       • Book Club - Wednesday, February 18th at 6:30 PM. The month's book selection is “The Heiress” by Rachel Hawkins. Stop by the library to pick up a copy of the book. All are welcome.

      • Alien Abduction Day - Friday, March 20th at 4 PM. Ages 5 and up. Did you know that March 20th is National Alien Abduction Day? We will celebrate by crafting our very own UFOs. Please register by calling 716-652-2719.

      • Mocktails and Craft Night - Monday, March 23rd at 6 PM. Enjoy a mocktail while painting beautiful candlesticks! Teens and adults welcome. Teens bring your adults, adults bring your teens for mocktails and a painting. Please register by calling 716-652-2719.

      • Career Fair - Thursday, March 26th at 1 PM. Attention all job seekers! In partnership with the New York State Department of Labor, the Elma Public Library will be hosting a Job Fair from 1:00pm- 3:00pm. Many local businesses will be attending and no registration is required. If you're looking for a new career, make sure to take advantage of this opportunity to meet local employers face-to-face! Professional attire is recommended and make sure to bring several copies of your resume. Participating business list coming soon!

      • Grow It Yourself! - Monday, March 30th at 6 PM. For ages 5 and up. An Introduction to Seed Starting for Kids. Participants will learn the basics of indoor seed-starting, when to transplant, and which plants are best for beginners. Each participant will take home a seed-starting kit.
