• Life-Sized Candyland - Friday, June 27th at 10:20 AM to July 5th. For ages 3 and up. Groups of 2-5 will be able to play this life-size, immersive Candyland game. Sign-up for a 20 minute session during any of the open dates to play. Game available during open hours. Please register by calling 716-652-2719.

• Astronomy Night - Wednesday, July 2nd at 8:30 PM. Join Penn Dixie Fossil Park & Nature Preserve at Elma Public Library for an out-of-this-world experience! Astronomers will map the night sky for you — including stars, planets, constellations, and deep space objects — using telescopes and specialized equipment. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, warm clothing, and blankets. All ages welcome. Registration is not required.

• Family Storytime - Tuesdays & Thursdays from July 8th to August 14th at 10:30 AM. Ages birth to 5. Join Miss Jessi for a fun family storytime! Please register by calling 716-652-2719.

• Floss, Toss, and Catch the Tooth Fairy Boss - Wednesday, July 9th at 6 PM. For kids entering K-4th grade. The Tooth Fairy is on the loose—and we need your help to catch her! Join us for a magical STEM adventure where kids will become junior engineers, inventors, and storytellers. Using everyday materials, participants will design and build their own creative tooth fairy traps while learning the basic principles of science, technology, engineering, and math. • Messtival - Thursday, July 10th at 2 PM. A mess, hands-on event for all ages! Explore a variety of materials and create art. We will have a shaded area with taste safe activities for the littles including a pasta pit and vegetable-based paint. Other activities include painting with giant objects, a pool of shaving cream, splat painting and a "mud" pit. This event will take place outside on the library's lawn. Wear clothes that can get messy! Spring Brook Fire Company will provide a wash down at 3:45. Bring your own towel. Registration is not required. Rain date is July 17. 

• Kiki the Kitten and the Tiny Squeak - Saturday, July 12th at 2 PM. For ages 5-9. Story time over Zoom? Let’s do it! An hour of colorful adventures, activities, and entertaining classical music science await in this multimedia presentation of slides, video clips, and hands-on activities. Short scientific experiments—like attaching electrodes to plants and hearing them sing— will help demonstrate how all living things, including us, are connected through music. • Book Club - Wednesday, July 16th at 6:30 PM. The month's book selection is “Hamnet” by Maggie O'Farrell. Stop by the library to pick up a copy of the book or reserve online. All are welcome.

• Summer Dance Class - Fridays, July 18th to August 8th at 10:30 AM. Join us for a creative movement, musicality, dance, fitness, and tumbling class. For ages 3-5. Please register by calling 716-652-2719. 

• Create Your Own Comic Strip - Saturday, July 19th at 1 PM. For ages 8-18. Students will learn the basics of how to draw and ink a comic strip. The instructor will go over how to write a story for a comic, how to frame shots, and other must know techniques. After the workshop, students will have the skills necessary to expand their story into a longer comic book. Please register by calling 716-652-2719.

• Art on the Beach - Thursday, July 24th at 2 PM. On Zoom. Offered by the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center. Sun, sand, and surf! How do artists capture the beach in innovative paintings? Following a presentation of paintings by Pablo Picasso, Willem de Kooning, William Merritt Church and others, paint or draw your idea of summer at the seaside. Have paint or drawing supplies on hand. • Elma Cooks! Cookbook Club - Wednesday, July 30th at 6 PM. Join us for our quarterly cookbook club! Meet fellow foodies, cookbook enthusiasts and wonderful people who will enrich your culinary interests. This month's cookbook is “Al Roker's Recipes to Live By” Browse the book and sign up at the front desk.

• Foam Party - Saturday, August 2nd at 2 PM PM. We will have up to SIX FEET of foam to romp and play in an area about the size of half a tennis court. Best of all, it’s safe, allergen-free, hypo-allergenic, biodegradable foam solution. Please register by calling 716-652-2719.
