Adult Chair Yoga - Mondays, April 28th and May 5th, 12th & 19th at 1 PM. Yoga in a chair?! Yes! You don’t need to get down on the floor to experience the benefits of yoga. This class will include both seated postures and standing postures that use a chair for support. All fitness levels are welcome. A yoga mat to place under the chair is recommended. University Express: Wonderful Words of Shakespeare - Tuesday, May 27th at 2 PM. The Oxford English Dictionary lists more than 1,700 words which appear for the first time in Shakespeare’s writing. He was the first person we know of to use these words in print. However, there are as many as 400 words which Shakespeare may have actually invented himself. Whether by combining two words that already existed to create something new, or by taking common words and changing the parts of speech, there are so many words in the English Language made popular by Shakespeare. University Express: Reach Out to 911 - Wednesday, June 25th at 6:30 PM. The Reach Out to 911 program educates the public on when and how to call 9-1-1. Instructors present proper emergency response protocols, enhancing community preparedness and reducing anxiety associated with emergency calls. It also guides people on when to call 911 versus using other services like 211 (for basic needs), 988 (for people experiencing thoughts of suicide or a mental health crisis) or 1-800-222-1222 (for the Upstate New York Poison Center), helping to prevent misuse of 9-1-1 in non-emergency situations.
